Apply the plaster evenly (or unevenly depending on the effect you want) with a spatula. Note that you'll either need to trim the stencil (at the trim line) so that it doesn't overlap when you move it from side to side, or apply the plaster at every other space, using the registration marks. Once the first set is dry, you finish the second set.			When the plaster is completely dry we painted the base color, a coffee color.


Using the same stencil that we applied the plaster with, we then used a brush to apply the gold highlights over the embossment.
